At UBBC putting our faith into action is important. We try to continue the work of Jesus by “walking the walk”. Opportunities for service are a part of our life together. Through service we find ways to demonstrate our love for God and neighbor.

Sanctuary Choir

Our choir sings in weekly worship services from September through May. Rehearsals are on Thursday evenings and Sunday mornings before worship. Previous experience is helpful, but membership is open to all and attendance policies are quite flexible. The choir is directed by Dr. Heike Burghart Rice.

Christmas Play

Our children perform an annual Christmas play. Rehearsals are held for several weeks in the fall and culminate in a production during the worship service on the Sunday before Christmas.  All children and youth are welcome to participate.

Thursday Night Dinners

Dinners are held in the Fellowship Hall on the first and third Thursday of every month during the school year, and weekly (as hosts are available) in private homes during the summer.  These suppers are a time for people to connect and get to know one another while sharing a great meal!

G₂O or Generation 2 Generation Outings is a program that promotes intergenerational outdoor experiences to appreciate God’s creation. Through G₂O, children, youth, and adults have opportunities to get better acquainted with the great outdoors and with each other, and to build mentoring relationships to last a lifetime.

Crop Walk

CROP Hunger Walks are community-based walk fundraising events held in cities and towns across the United States.  The walks support the global mission of Church World Service, a faith-based organization transforming communities around the globe through just and sustainable responses to hunger, poverty, displacement and disaster.

The Alternative Christmas Fair has for 40 years given local, national, and international charities the opportunity to raise funds in a group setting. In that time we have raised awareness about the work of local non-profits and non-commercial ways to honor the birth of Christ, not to mention almost $1,000,000 in donations!
